Vaughn is an accomplished Electrician, who previously worked for World Electrical in Perth for close to 10 years. He was the leading Electrician for majority of his time there, managing and training apprentices, dealing with complex problem solving and truly helping his clients.
Since closing that chapter, he has gained the following skills
2023 Harvest Emerald, QLD (April - November. Sorghum Harvest mid year, Wheat Harvest and general farm duties)
- Chaser Bin Operation for both harvests - John Deere 8R 340 Gen 2 Tractor with Coolamon 36 tonne Chaser Bin
- Grain carting on farm only in HC trucks, synchro and non-synchro (Mack Trident and Mack Fleetliner)
- Header Operation, John Deere S770s (wheat)
- Planting with John Deere 9RX Scraper Edition or 9RT Tractor tractor and Flexicoil or Horsch
- Ploughing with John Deere 9RX Scraper Edition or 9RT Tractor with Horsch Tiger or Joker
- Ground operator for Helicopter spraying (spraying Sorghum prior to harvest)
- Relocating 200 tonne Coolamon Mother Bin on occasion
- Filling grain haulage trucks and road trains for transport
- Water Truck operation (Volvo)
- General repairs and maintenance around the farm
2022 Harvest Kiacatoo, NSW
- Operation of 2388 Case Header with 34ft draper front (wheat only). Daily servicing (blowing down, greasing, oil checks, etc)
- Prepping Headers for harvest (cleaning, greasing, draper belt replacement, replacing hydraulic lines, welding repairs to comb etc.)
- Operating Steiger 9370 for multiple heavy machinery recoveries (due to Headers bogging in crop)
- Cleaning trucks and silos in preparation for grain storage and carting
- Experience operating old bobcat and CAT backhoe
- Mustering sheep and cattle (Brahman & Angus) on motorbike and quad, with some yard work. Also assisted in mustering and moving sheep in tinny from flooded paddocks
- Some experience with Rouseabout work for contract shearer (500 head)
2022 Dairy Farmhand, Driffield VIC (Dry - Brooker Dairies)
- Operating newer model John Deere tractor to feed silage to cows (pits and bales)
- Helping train heifers to walk through the dairy
- Spreading with tractor (Urea)
- Tagging, immunising and data entry
- Moving herd regularly for strip grazing
- Electrical work completed on workers cottage (new powerpoints/light switches etc)
- Hearding cattle with Can-Am and Motorbike
- Cleaning out sheds, removing deceased cattle and many other odd jobs
2021 Harvest Gnowangerup, WA (Including Contract Swathing at various farms)
- Operating John Deere Windrower with MacDon 40ft comb (Swathing Canola)
- Operating John Deere Tractor and Chaser Bin during harvest
- Operating various tractors for PTO operation and moving silos
- Experience with firefighters, chemical tanks (Swathing) and sprayer systems on machinery
- Driving farm based grain trucks (old Cleanaway trucks)
- Operating augers dumping into grain trucks or silos
- Experience as a pilot when relocating oversize machinery
